According  to the letter, with the approval of the board of directors, on  September 10, 2019, Alibaba will no longer serve as the chairman of the  board of directors of Ali Group, and will be replaced by the current CEO  of Ali Group, Zhang Yong (Xiaoyao).

Today next year will mark Ali's completion of the  corporate system from relying on personal traits to relying on  organizational mechanisms and talent culture. He  knows that no one can always serve as the CEO and chairman of the  company. So, 10 years ago, he began to train and train the successor  system, and solved the problem of enterprise inheritance and  development. "Let the world have no difficult business."

In fact, since the start of Ma Yun’s CEO in 2013, Ali has been operating smoothly for five years. In  the letter, Ma Yun affirmed Zhang Yong’s performance in joining Ali for  11 years. For himself, he said, “Everyone knows that I am a free  person, in addition to continuing to serve as an Ali partner and a  partner organization mechanism. Besides contributing, I want to return to education and do what I love."

At the end of the letter, he said: "Alibaba never belongs to Ma Yun, but Ma Yun will always belong to Alibaba."
